Growing up in San Francisco, I was the youngest of four children born to immigrant parents who wanted nothing more than to raise us as happy and healthy individuals in a country of freedom. I was fascinated by the relationship between my parents, between them and each of us, and between my siblings and me. After believing for some time that I wanted to be a pediatrician, I decided, in my third year in college, that I wanted to counsel people on their relationships with others and with themselves. I still enjoy and value this process and am pleased to do so in my own neighborhood, Multnomah Village.

After attending college at UC Davis and graduate school at UC Berkeley, I received a Master’s in Social Work in 1987 and specialized in working with children, adults and families. My family and I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1992. Since then I’ve worked at Parry Center for Children and at Providence Portland Medical Center, where I am still employed part-time. What I’ve been seeking is to provide service in a neighborhood multi-disciplinary clinic, and am now excited to be doing this.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, working out, hiking and listening to live Blues music. I also value my time with my two young adult children, listening to their life stories and how they make sense of them. I look forward to doing the same with you and your families.
